Hello! I’m Jillian, and I’d like to share my personal health story with you.

My love for healthy living started many years ago as a teenager. At age 16, I began supporting myself and had little in the way of guidance when it came to my health and wellness. I was experiencing many symptoms - including chronic pain - that lead me to search for answers. Learning to navigate the complicated healthcare system of the US was not an easy task as a teen.

My primary care physician had prescribed several drugs that I did not fully understand to address my fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, and migraines. By age 19, I was taking six different medications. I wasn’t getting better and was eventually referred to a neurologist for an MRI to rule out an underlying neurological disorder. Fortunately, the results were clear. But I was still left with no answers. When I met with the neurologist, what he said shocked and, quite frankly, angered me.

“Why are you on so many meds? You’re too young for this!”

I thought, “because doctors like you are telling me to take them…”

But I kept quiet and listened. He gave me a food journal to help narrow down what was triggering my migraines and painful flare-ups with the goal of reducing my medications. This was the first time I ever felt in control of my health. I discovered many foods that were increasing my symptoms and slowly eliminated them from my diet. I started practicing yoga and meditation as well, which helped ease my anxiety, depression, and pain levels. I felt like I was finally able to break the cycle and create a better future for myself.

While in college, I did my best to maintain a healthy lifestyle to manage my symptoms so I could focus on my education and career goals. But after I graduated, I found myself in an abusive marriage that left me experiencing more pain than I had ever felt before. The extreme stress caused my symptoms to become unbearable, no matter how healthy my lifestyle was.

Eventually, I was able to free myself and start my life over. While going through my divorce, I turned to yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, and my support system to pull myself back from the brink. Adding therapy and coaching was also key to my healing and personal growth. This was a period of true transformation, with healing and regulating being at the center of my focus.

My life's mission since then has been to support others through their health journey in the same way that I was once suppprted. Helping others minimize the devastating effects of chronic pain and manage their stress is so rewarding. I am passionate about creating a space where my clients are seen, heard and validated as they incorporate pain and stress management tools into their life.

By understanding the mind-body connection and viewing health through an integrative lens, I can help you take back control of your life and write your own success story!
